Harmony Solar Rathkeale Ltd. intends to apply to Limerick County Council for planning permission for the development of a solar farm within the townland of Ardgoulbeg, approximately 3 km northwest of Rathkeale. The proposed solar farm would contribute to meeting Ireland’s renewable energy targets of up to 80% of electricity to be generated from renewable sources by 2030.

The proposed solar farm is located on approximately 63 hectares of agricultural lands within the townland of Ardgoulbeg.
